Jacaranda mimosifolia is a sub-tropical plant, native to South America. It grows into a tall tree, but can be kept in pots by pruning and feeding from time to time. It has fern like looking leaves and beautiful blue, large flowers, appearing from early spring.
The woody seed pods are large and flat, containing hundreds of seeds.
It is half-hardy but when gets older can tolerate occasional frost too.
